You really should take a look at this site:


It contains thousands of images from more than 5000 different locations on the surface of the planet, the project goal is to document what the Earth looks like, by getting photos and descriptions of all the places where our latitude/longitude coordinate system has integer degrees crossing, i.e. something like 78 North, 14 East which happens to be located on Svalbard, a Norwegian dominion:


Even though most of the pictures are regular 4:3 or 3:2 format images, there's quite a few panoramas as well!
