Problem with the rectilinear perspective projection

Post by Roll' » Sun Feb 28, 2010 5:58 am

Hello,

I have got a little problem with the rectilinear perspective projection.
Indeed, sometimes a shot is not stitched even though all control points are good across the pano.
It seems this is a random behavior, for the same panorama I can get either a good or a bad result.

Here are two samples of the same panorama without editing anything between each pano:

The problem might happens during the compilation but difficult to give more info when we do not know the origine of the problem, so please, ask me for more information.

It is very hard to say without more information.

One guess is that perhaps PTAssembler is configured to run PTAStitcher using multiple processors/cores (i.e. PTAStitcher processes multiple images simultaneously). And, perhaps there isn't enough available memory to support the number of simultaneous processes. What happens if you reduce the number of processors (Misc tab of the preferences screen)?

Thanks,

Max

I did a couple of attempt at 1 and 2 processors but the shot is still missing.

Don't know if this can help, but here is the log of compilation:

Yes...that helps. You can see that PTAStitcher parsed a project with 6 files. You can also see that PTAStitcher successfully created 6 output files, and Enblend used those 6 files as input. After this it is hard to tell what went wrong, but it looks like an Enblend problem because Enblend doesn't appear to have used all 6 files in creating the final image.

Some suggestions:

1. Make sure you are using the latest version of Enblend.
2. Experiment with different Enblend command line args. Different combinations of (and/or values for) -a and -m might make a difference.
3. Try Smartblend instead.

Issue fixed. It works pretty well with Smartblend.

Thanks a lot Max!
