I have not used aurora, but make regular use of easyHDR (http://www.easyhdr.com) which is very good and not expensive. You can process single files as well as differently exposed series of pictures and you can generate your own presets for regular use. I have some which give very mild enhancements that are useful for giving a little boost to microcontrast and for haze removal (both on single files). When generating HDRs watch the sharpening slider if you use their own presets - I always set it to zero as my files are tiffs with pre-existing processing.

Hope that this may be useful for you.

There's also TuFuse and TuFuse Pro developed by Max Lyons and supported here.
