TuFuse Pro scratch drive

Post by button » Mon Jul 27, 2009 12:57 am

Hey Max,

I assume that TuFuse Pro uses a scratch drive for some of its calculations, as I see my "drive on" light flashing away for much of the time during a fusion. Is there a way to assign a different drive than "C"? If not, can you add that to the "to do" list for the next version?

BTW, I love the program!

Many thanks,
John

Yes, you can change this by changing the path that Windows uses for temporary files. PTAssembler uses the Windows "GetTempPath" function to ask the operating system for an appropriate place to create temporary files. According to Microsoft:
Microsoft wrote:The GetTempPath function checks for the existence of environment variables in the following order and uses the first path found:

The path specified by the TMP environment variable.
The path specified by the TEMP environment variable.
The path specified by the USERPROFILE environment variable.
The Windows directory.
So, if you specify a different directory as part of the TMP variable then you can alter where TuFuse will create temporary files.
