TF pro vs SNS-HDR pro

Post by imagem » Fri Oct 25, 2013 11:33 am

I'm a long term (happy) user of TF pro. In my opinion it beats Photomatix, Oloneo, etc for natural results hands down. That being said, I'd like to share with other users a test/comparison between TF pro and SNS-HDR pro.

Both softwares were feed with (the same) TIFF images, 8 bit, sRGB. No pre/post processing at all. TF with the default settings and SNS in neutral mode (all zeros).

To my surprise, TF pro made some areas darker than expected - see the door inside the rectangle - and also revealed a slight tendency for halos - see the sky inside the circle.

Your thoughts on this?

I'm not too familiar with the other programs you mention, but it doesn't surprise me that the results differ. Tufuse uses an image fusion algorithm, while Photomatix (not sure about the other programs) use a more traditional high-dynamic range/tone-mapping approach.
