Images that is not perfectly aligned

Post by Datamaskin » Wed Mar 14, 2012 7:32 pm

Hi.

I've tried to mount a cheap camera - Olympus X-925 to a relatively cheap tripod, type Vanguard Alta+ 233AP.

Now, with any decent cameras, the tripod works like a charm, but the cheap camera have it's mounting hole just about 1/2 inch from its left edge. That weird placement of the mounting hole combined with the need for a relatively hard touch on the shot button to make it shot make that the series of pictures isn't aligned properly to each other. Obvious, any attemt to put together an "averaged" picture will result in a blurry image.

I have tried several methods to press the shot button in order to keep the images aligned to each other. No luck.

I do have better cameras, but I hoped to be able to show that I could get a very fine image - even with a low budget camera.

Any ideas? Does my plan have any right to stay alive? Is this possible at all?

I'm sorry to break any rule here if involving other software is, but does it exists methods/software to align/crop a series og images so that they apperars to be perfectly aligned?

Thanks

I answer on this old post myself.

I've managed to fix this by using Gimp :)
