Hi Max, sometimes I try TuFuse applying it onto (nearly) zero noise images obtained with a software of my own that performs an optimum blend in terms of noise and sharpness of several RAW files.

These images are strongly underexposed; in fact they have the same exposure as the least exposed RAW file provided in a bracketed series. The reason for this is that is the only way to acomplish with the 2 conditions I demand in the output:
1. Never clip the highlights
2. Don't alter the contrast and tones of the original scene (i.e. the output is a totally virgin RAW development)

Then I create several replicas of the output image, usually applying +2EV and +4EV, and feed them into TuFuse.

TuFuse's -b command could allow to do that step automatically, but so far it is not possible since it only creates a single replica of the image in each direction (i.e. one underexposed and/or one overexposed).

I wonder if you could expand the -b command to allow for more copies. To keep total compatibility with the present approach:

-b [+,-]n Auto-bracket each exposure by +n, -n or +/-n stops

TuFuse could just include a second optional parameter in -b that indicates the number of bracketed replicas in this way:

-b 0.8: generates -0.8, 0, +0.8 bracketing
-b 0.8 1: the same as -b 0.8
-b 0.8 2: generates -1.6, -0.8, 0, +0.8, +1.6 bracketing
-b +2 2: generates 0, +2, +4 bracketing
-b -1 3: generates -3, -2, -1, 0 bracketing
...

and so forth.

That would be truly appreciated for very high DR scenes and specially for an underexposed input image that contains very valuable information in the deep shadows (e.g. this TIFF file can be overexposed up to +12EV revealing deep shadows information free of noise or posterization).

Regards

Thanks for the suggestion...I'll consider it.
